Sunday service

In the Sunday Service, by revering the Buddha through sincere recitation of Kyoten, we remember and praise the virtues and teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and our founder and cofounder, as well as express our deep gratitude. We also read Dharma passages and deepen our understanding by Hoza (a Dharma circle).

We have been studying Buddhist teachings with reference to:

Sunday Services allow us: 1) to reflect on the meaning and purpose of our lives; 2) to reaffirm the Eternal Buddha as their refuge and focus of devotion; 3) to become aware that we are sustained by the Eternal Buddha; and 4) to renew our vows to be diligent in practising the Buddha’s teachings and have a concrete goal at the start of each week.

This event is open to anyone, including non-members. We are happy to welcome you all. You can keep your mic and video off.

First-day devotions of the month (Uposatha Day)

First-day devotions of the month is a ceremony held on 1st day of the month, an occasion of renewing our vows and pledging further practice at the very beginning of the month. One of RK’s monthly memorial days, which includes sutra recitation, reading President's monthly message, and Hoza (Dharma circle).

Chanting meditation. We chant ‘Namu Myoho Renge-kyo’ keeping an empty mind or thinking of world peace or the happiness of people close to us. This practice will purify both our mind and body.
