Meditative Sutra Recitation (Morning 9:00)

A gentle space to settle into the day

Our morning sutra recitation at 9:00 am offers a slightly more spacious rhythm for beginning the day in practice.

We recite selected passages from Kyoten: Sutra Readings in English, which draws from the Threefold Lotus Sutra for daily practice. By reciting together in the morning, we take time to settle the mind, turn toward the Buddha’s teachings, and reconnect with our intention for the day ahead.

This practice is not about achieving a particular mental state. Rather, it is a way of returning—through steady recitation—to a simple and sincere form of devotion expressed through our daily actions.

The recitation lasts around 30 minutes and takes place in a calm and unhurried atmosphere at the Buddhist centre. You are welcome to join, whether you wish to recite aloud, listen quietly, or simply sit and allow the words of the sutra to settle.

This session is open to anyone, including those who are new to Buddhism or to sutra recitation.
