A quiet way to begin the day in practice
Our morning sutra recitation at 7:00 am is a short, steady practice that helps us begin the day with clarity and intention.
We recite two chapters from Kyoten: Sutra Readings in English, which contains selected passages from the Threefold Lotus Sutra for daily practice. By reciting together each morning, we gently turn our hearts and actions toward the Buddha’s teachings and renew our personal intention for the day ahead.
This practice is not about achieving a particular state, but about returning—day by day—to a simple and sincere form of devotion expressed through recitation. Practised regularly, it becomes a quiet foundation for how we live, work, and relate to others.
The recitation lasts around 15 minutes and takes place in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. You are very welcome to join, whether you wish to recite aloud, listen quietly, or simply sit and allow the words of the sutra to settle.
This session is open to anyone, including those who are new to Buddhism or sutra recitation.
