Buddhism for Today (Old Version)
By Nikkyo Niwano (1906–1999) Founder of Rissho Kosei-kai
1976
A companion to the widely acclaimed translation of the Threefold Lotus Sutra, this volume aids readers in understanding, in a modern context, the profundities of this Buddhist scripture. In this work, the thirty-two chapters of the Threefold Lotus Sutra are discussed in detail. Obscure points are clarified, and the true meaning of each chapter of this incomparable sutra is unfolded so that all may understand the Buddha’s ageless teaching of wisdom, compassion and liberation. This comprehensive commentary makes the Lotus Sutra immediately accessible, vividly bringing its twenty-five-hundred-year-old message to life.
This book is the standard textbook of its members’ Dharma study.
