Educational & Pastoral Support
Buddhist presence in education, multifaith chaplaincy, and end-of-life care
A Quiet Presence in Public Life
At RKUK, we are honoured to offer compassionate Buddhist support in schools, universities, chaplaincy settings, and at times of loss and bereavement.
Whether you’re an educator, a chaplain, or a family looking for a meaningful farewell for a loved one, we are here to support with care, clarity and respect.
We are also pleased to collaborate with The Buddhist Society, working together with wider Buddhist communities across the UK.
Support for Education & Chaplaincy
We provide talks, workshops, and pastoral presence in schools, universities and other institutions.
- School visits and guest lessons (Key Stage 2–5)
- Contributions to interfaith assemblies or RE days
- Support for chaplaincy teams in hospitals and universities, with potential for future wider contexts
- Guidance on how Buddhism is lived in contemporary UK society
Our approach is inclusive and non-proselytising. We aim to offer a quiet Buddhist presence that supports understanding and spiritual wellbeing, regardless of faith background.

Buddhist Funeral & Memorial Services
We offer Buddhist funeral and memorial ceremonies for those who would like to mark the passing of a loved one with a peaceful, compassionate service.
Our ceremonies are open to all and can be adapted to suit a wide range of wishes and circumstances.
- Buddhist chanting and prayers
- Dharma talk and time for family contributions
- Home, crematorium, graveside, or online options
- Posthumous Buddhist names (available for members)
- Conducted in English, with Japanese chanting if desired
Services are offered on a donation basis. We are happy to work with families and funeral directors to create a ceremony that honours both tradition and personal meaning.

Working Together
We believe that Buddhist presence in public life is most meaningful when it is collaborative and inclusive.
We are committed to working alongside other faiths and secular institutions in a spirit of peace, openness, and respect.
If you represent a school, chaplaincy service, or family seeking Buddhist support, we welcome your enquiry.
We are here to serve where we can, quietly and sincerely.
